Population

The Municipality of Libona is composed of 14 barangays, 7-barangays were considered as urban and urbanizing and the remaining 7-barangays were rural. This urban and urbanizing barangays are the Barangays Poblacion, Crossing, Gango, Kiliog, Kinawe, Laturan and Sil-ipon. Both urban and urbanizing barangays constitute a total population of 29,543 individuals (2019 PSA Projection). The 7 Rural Barangays are the barangays of Pongol, Capihan, Maambong, Santa Fe, San Jose, Nangka and Palabukan with a combined population of 19,274 individulas. Among all 14 barangays, its Barangay Gango reached a population of more than 5,000 which is considered as urban. The 2 urban barangays did not reached a 5,000 total barangay population but because of the available facilities, economic activities and function for development which qualified them to be urban barangays.
